synopsis

Touria, Joséphine and Dominique come from French Polynesia and have been working for many years as prostitutes on Curiol street in Marseille. At a time when their street is undergoing far-reaching changes, they tell us about their lives and their trade.

Julian Ballester is a documentary filmmaker from France currently residing in Barcelona. His film Rue Curiol («Curiol Street») was completed as part of his Master’s degree with the financial support of région PACA. Having lived in France, Spain and Canada, Julian is passionate about cities, identity and personal and social transformations.
